Why do I have to enter my own electricity rate?
Because there is no single "price of electricity" — it varies enormously by country, region, provider, and even time of day. Any built-in number would be wrong for most people, so this calculator asks you to enter the per-kWh rate from your own bill. That keeps the result honest.
Where do I find my power draw in watts?
Use the average draw, not the PSU rating. A gaming PC might average 300–450 W under load and far less when idle or browsing. If you are sizing from parts, our PSU Calculator estimates a system load; a wall-socket power meter gives the most accurate real figure.
Is this the same as my PSU wattage?
No. Your PSU might be rated 750 W, but that is its maximum capacity, not what your PC actually pulls. Electricity cost is based on real average consumption, which is usually well below the PSU rating.
